Get The Perfect Beach Waves

Your hair is important. This summer, get the best beach waves you can for your hair. There are many different styles and techniques that have been tried and tested over the years.

Each one claims to work the best, demonstrating how it uses the best methods to make the most out of your hair. Each technique has its advantages and disadvantages. It all depends on the type of hair you have, and how you like it styled best. Here are the best methods that have been proven to bring results. Select the one that benefits your hair the most.

Invest in products

As much as we sometimes hate to do it, buying the best products for our hair is key. You don’t have to buy the most expensive brands on the market, but don’t venture to the lowest quality either. One of the key components of the perfect beach waves is the body that your hair gets. Find products that give your hair lift, without giving it a greasy look.

The first two products you should apply to your hair while it is still wet are a boosting spray, and a lightweight volumizing mousse. Use enough to give your hair body. Using too much might have the opposite effect, weighing it down. Use a brush to smooth out the knots in your hair, but run your finger through after to keep the lift in place. Using the best of these products will make obtaining beach waves so much easier. You will have the first part taken care of, making everything about your hair more manageable.

Curling iron

Beach waves are all about getting a nice and big curl. When using a curling iron to achieve this, don’t use the smaller sizes that are typical for curly hair. Invest in a curling iron that has at least an inch barrel.

You can use it in the normal way, or just wrap the hair around the barrel, ignoring the clamp to make it easier. This allows you to hold the hair with your fingers either tighter, or looser depending on how you want the curls to look. For the best beach waves, try holding the hair lightly, not wrapping all the way to the bottom.

A three-barrel curling iron can also give beach waves, although they are a very different style than using a regular curling iron. Try out both styles to see which type of curls you like best.

One of the best advantages of a curling iron with three barrels is that it moves much faster. You only need to hold it in your hair for a short amount of time to get the desired wave. Move down, using a small section at a time for only a few seconds for the best results.

Without heat

Some people don’t like using curling irons on their head. Whether that is because of the potential for damaged hair, or time constraints, there are two easy methods for getting beach waves without heat.

If you know how to French braid your own hair, or have somebody who can do it, shower at night, drying your hair until it is only slightly damp, and then put it in braids. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, you can use tight, or loose braids. Sleep in this style, blow-drying it while pulling out the braid when you wake up in the morning. You will find beautiful beach waves as a result.

You can still get those natural beach waves even if you can’t braid your own hair by following these steps:

  • Get your hair wet
  • Part it into four sections, two on each side of your head
  • Tie the sections in a ponytail and spray with hairspray
  • Twist the section, each in the same direction
  • Once it begins to coil allow it to follow its pattern until it is flat on your head
  • Use a bobby pin to keep in place
  • Either allow it to dry over night, or use a blow dryer
  • Take out the coils, separate the hair, and add hairspray

This method is easy, and had great results.

When trying to get the perfect beach waves, know that there are many different methods. Some styles might work better on you than others. Experiment when you have time to find the best for you.
